Denver Modern Jiu Jitsu is a family-oriented martial arts school in Aurora, Colorado, serving the wider Denver metro area. The gym runs programs for kids, teens and adults, built around what it calls American Jiu Jitsu, taught both with and without the gi. Adults can also train MMA, kickboxing and jiu jitsu-based wrestling, and the program includes open mats, sparring and a competition class. Beginners are welcome, and no prior fitness level is needed. Parents are encouraged to watch kids' classes. Members describe a newly built facility with showers, changing rooms and a sauna, and a mix of experienced higher belts and friendly training partners. The school stresses a practical, realistic approach to self-defense and a welcoming atmosphere for every age and experience level.
