Fitzroy Lodge is a traditional amateur boxing club housed under the railway arches on Lambeth Road in south London. Founded in 1908 as an athletics club, it has been based at its current home since 1946 and is run as a volunteer-led charity. The club offers both competitive amateur boxing and recreational keep-fit training, with separate junior and senior groups, and welcomes everyone from complete beginners upwards. Competitive squads are by invitation. Members train in an open-plan space with two rings, plenty of bags, weights and a cardio area. Affiliated with England Boxing, the club has produced many national amateur champions and well-known alumni, and it carries a strong community tradition.
