Gracie Barra South Portland is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Maine, part of the Gracie Barra network under Carlos Gracie Jr. It opened in 2021 and is led by Professor Mário Lemos, a black belt who trained in Brazil and later in Boston. The school teaches gi and no-gi BJJ for adults of all levels, with a competition class, open mats and private lessons. Children are grouped by age and level in the Little Champions and Juniors programs, and teens are welcome too. Newcomers can start with the Fundamentals program and book a free trial class through the website. The academy is IBJJF-registered and follows the Gracie Barra curriculum structure.
