Mattix Academy is an IBJJF-registered Jiu Jitsu academy in Davie, Florida, founded in 2015 by black belt Ricky Semiglia. The academy teaches both gi and no-gi Jiu Jitsu to adults and children, with a teaching philosophy centered on core concepts—connection, timing, and weight distribution—rather than technique memorization. Adults train at fundamentals and advanced levels with live sparring four nights weekly, while kids join age-specific programs: Mini Mattix (5-9) and Mega Mattix (9-14). Members and visiting blue belts and above can join open mat sessions, making Mattix a welcoming community for visiting practitioners.
