The Griphouse is a Glasgow martial arts gym on the top floor of a unit in the north of the city, billing itself as the city's MMA gym. Founded in 2005 by a group of experienced fighters, it teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu in gi and no-gi, wrestling, MMA and Muay Thai, with fundamentals classes for newcomers alongside competition classes and squad training. Dedicated sparring sessions and women's BJJ sit within the programme, and there are Muay Thai classes for children. The coaching team includes black belts, Cage Warriors fighters, a Commonwealth Games wrestler and professional Muay Thai competitors. The gym says most of its members never compete, and visitors from other gyms are welcome.
