Grey Wolf Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a family-oriented academy in Eugene's Bethel/Danebo area, opened in 2018 by IBJJF black belt Michael Yi. The school belongs to the Babalu's Iron Gym family and carries the lineage of Renato "Babalu" Sobral. It teaches gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu to kids, teens and adults, with kids grouped by maturity and skill and including bully-prevention and conflict-resolution lessons. A women's class is open to members and non-members alike. Beyond BJJ, the gym offers integrated kickboxing and Island Weapons Art, which covers Irish stick fighting and Filipino martial arts, plus community yoga. An active competition team travels to regional and IBJJF tournaments, and the academy hosts seminars, promotions and community gatherings. Beginners are welcome, and a loaner gi is provided for the first class.
