Jacksonville Gracie Jiu Jitsu

Jacksonville Gracie Jiu Jitsu is a Northeast Florida academy led by Master Luiz Palhares, an 8th degree red and white belt who trained under Rolls and Rickson Gracie and taught at Rickson's academy in Los Angeles before settling in Jacksonville. The school teaches gi and no-gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu alongside judo, wrestling, Muay Thai and boxing, with specialist instructors for each. Programs cover children, women, beginners and a competition team, and the academy has a long relationship with local police, offering combatives training for military and law enforcement. Professor Pedro Palhares is a recent IBJJF no-gi world champion. The gym also hosts open jiu-jitsu tournaments each year and provides clean mats, changing rooms and showers.
