RJA Jiu Jitsu is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self-defence academy in Frenchs Forest, on Sydney's Northern Beaches. It is led by head coach Richard Gonçalves, a black belt with more than two decades of competition experience at national, continental and world level. The academy teaches both Gi and No-Gi, with all-levels adult classes, an advanced and competition-focused session, sparring rounds and open mats. Kids' programmes are split by age group, starting from the youngest beginners, and a No-Gi self-defence stream suits adults with no prior experience. New students are welcome to try a first class before committing. The academy is registered with the IBJJF and runs its own shop with branded apparel and gear.
