ROLLSTAR Jiu Jitsu Academy is the Maryland branch of a two-location club, with its sister school in Hackensack, New Jersey. The academy teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in both gi and no-gi, blending traditional technical foundations with wrestling, positional control and submission strategy. Muay Thai and judo coaches add striking and throwing to the mix. Instruction comes from a team of black belts with ties to the Ataide Rafael lineage, and several of them also hold ranks in other martial arts. Programs run for kids, teens and adults, from a young children's class to competition training, plus self-defense and anti-bullying workshops. Free trial classes make it easy for newcomers to start.
