Blackstaff Grappling

Blackstaff Grappling is a jiu jitsu gym based in the Blackstaff Mill in West Belfast. The club teaches Brazilian jiu jitsu with gi classes, drawing on judo and wrestling-based techniques such as throws, takedowns and leglocks. Training centres on efficient technique rather than physical attributes, which keeps sessions relaxed, fun and safe while reducing fatigue and injury risk. The gym welcomes both hobbyists and competitors, and competing is encouraged but never required. Beginners are actively enrolled, and the club has said it plans to bring back kids classes following requests from parents. Enquiries are handled through the gym's social media channels.
