Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team Malta

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team Malta presents itself as the island's first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy. It was founded by Keith Darmanin, Malta's first BJJ black belt, who holds a 3rd degree in BJJ and a 2nd Dan in Goshin Ju-Jitsu, backed by more than three decades of experience. Training is split between two dojos, one in Msida and one at Corradino Heights in Kordin, Paola. Classes cover gi and no-gi grappling, with separate fundamentals and all-levels sessions, and there is a kids' programme for children aged 7 to 12. Beginners are welcome, and the club describes itself as a supportive community as well as a training space. Members also take part in international BJJ and grappling competitions, and the academy aims to raise the profile of the sport in Malta.
