Kamon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Kamon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the longest running BJJ school in the Portsmouth area, fostering a no-ego, relaxed training environment. Head instructor Kevin Chan, a 4-stripe black belt trained under Mauricio Gomes and Roger Gracie, leads the club alongside other black belt instructors including Russ Ferbridge and Louis Manning. Club patron Mauricio Motta Gomes, known as the Godfather of British BJJ, contributes to the school's legacy. Classes welcome all levels from complete beginners who receive a free first week through to advanced practitioners, emphasising a supportive community. Rather than a single home mat, Kamon operates across three Portsmouth-area venues offering both gi and no-gi training.
