Limerick BJJ Academy

Limerick BJJ Academy is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school based in a business-park unit on the Dock Road. It is an IBJJF-registered academy led by a third-degree black belt with several European medals to his name. Classes cover both gi and no-gi, from mixed-level sessions to an advanced class, with dedicated sparring classes and open mats. Newcomers begin with a structured six-week beginners course, kept separate from the main classes, before moving into the white belt classes. A kids' programme caters for children from five years old through to their mid-teens. The academy stresses technique over strength and says nobody is forced to pair up with a partner they would rather avoid. Gis and rash guards are available through the club's shop.
