Newcastle Fight Centre

Newcastle Fight Centre, also known as MMA Newcastle, is a combat sports gym in the Shieldfield area of Newcastle upon Tyne, a short walk from Manors metro and Northumbria University. It teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the gi and no-gi, MMA, kickboxing, boxing and wrestling, with open mats for extra rolling. The BJJ programme runs as Itaipava Jiu-Jitsu under head coach Pete Irving, a BJJ black belt in the Crezio de Souza lineage tracing back to Carlson Gracie, who also holds black belts in Chinese boxing and Semtex Kickboxing. A former professional MMA, Muay Thai and K-1 fighter with over 50 pro bouts, Irving is a familiar voice in North East MMA as a commentator and oversees the Team Crezio network of UK gyms. New members can arrange a free trial session.
