Subworx Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Subworx is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy based in a converted chapel in Hoole, Chester, and part of a two-hall club that also trains at a second site in Saltney. Teaching follows the Roger Gracie Academy lineage and is primarily gi-based, with some no-gi work. Weekly classes are mixed age and ability, and there is a dedicated kids programme that includes self-defence and social awareness topics. The founder and head coach is a Roger Gracie Academy black belt, and the coaching team is DBS checked, first aid qualified and safeguarding trained. The club competes as a team, runs after-school BJJ in local schools and works with the NHS on social prescribing. There are no contracts, and one membership covers both halls.
