Luke Spencer

Luke Spencer

Also known as a “poor man’s Danaher” due to his extensive Danaher instructional library, a love of fanny packs and a fascination for all things sankaku, Luke has been on the mats for over 20 years, being lucky enough to learn from a literal treasure trove of world class instructors over that time - including Nathan Leverton, John Will, and Ash Williams - on top of that receiving his black belt from Eduardo Carriello in 2016 was the cherry on top! As Head Coach at Unity Jiu Jitsu in Essex, Luke still likes to go into the competition arena from time to time, (with some success) but his skillset has always been that of a coach rather than an immensely successful competitor. Luke has a particular focus on efficient Jiu Jitsu for older / less mobile individuals (as he very much fits that bill himself these days!) Alongside his love of jits, Luke is a massive country music and NFL fan; so if you want to work on building solid foundations while chatting 1st downs and listening to Toby Keith, he’s ya man!
