Base Grapple Club is an independent grappling gym on an industrial estate in Chippenham, affiliated with the VT JiuJitsu group led by black belt Leigh Remedios, which continues the Gordo Jiu-Jitsu lineage of Roberto Corrêa and Carlos Gracie Jr. The club teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in both gi and no-gi, alongside wrestling and MMA. Its programme includes a dedicated Fundamentals class for newcomers, juniors' sessions for children, a women-only open mat and a general open mat. Classes are led by black, brown, purple and blue belt coaches who are first aid and safeguarding trained. Beginners are welcome with no fitness requirement and are introduced to rolling gradually, while competition remains optional. Private one-to-one and small-group tuition is also available, and concessionary rates are offered to military, emergency services and students.
