Black Dog BJJ is a beginner-friendly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo gym founded by Alex and Oly in Wigan in late 2023. Its distinctive offering is Judo instruction by two-time Olympian Nigel Donohue, an elite coach in the sport. The gym runs classes for adults, teens, and kids in both disciplines, with a kids' programme called the Black Dog Confidence Code that covers ages 5–16 and awards belts and patches for martial arts skills alongside home and school achievements. Emphasising a welcoming, beginner-focused culture, the gym is BJJ Globetrotters affiliated.
