BlackSmith Jiu Jitsu is a family-oriented Brazilian jiu jitsu academy on Florida's Emerald Coast. Founded in California in 2017 by Jimmy and Lisa Smith, it moved to Niceville in 2019 and now reports a student body in the hundreds. The academy belongs to the Trujitsu Unified family, with a lineage running from Carlos Gracie Sr. through Jean Jacques Machado and Matt Baker. Programs cover adults, a women-only Lioness class, and LionHeart kids' classes starting at age 4, where training is grappling only with supervised sparring. A Yoga for BJJ class is also offered, and the academy runs a shop with custom gis and gear. Its motto stresses honor, integrity and loyalty.
