Combative Fighting Systems is a family-run Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in the Black Forest area of Colorado Springs. It is led by Ken Gabrielson, a Dirty Dozen black belt under Reylson Gracie and the first American Coral Belt in BJJ, alongside his sons Chris and Ken Jr., who are both black belts. All three are firefighters. The school welcomes beginners, runs an elite kids program and fields a competition team that has taken part in IBJJF, AJP and local events such as Tap Cancer Out. It also hosts EmpowerHER, a women's self-defence class. The gym's roots go back to Ken's first school in Orange County, California, opened in the 1990s.
