Daruma Dojo is a family-oriented BJJ and judo academy in Sunnyvale, serving students of all ages and skill levels. Founded by Professor Alberto Juarez—a 3rd-degree black belt with 20 years of teaching experience who also teaches BJJ at San Jose State University and previously at Stanford—the academy is known for balancing technical excellence with community and personal growth. It offers structured progression tracks: kids move from Junior through Youth and Teen to Honor Roll, while adults progress through Fundamentals to Competition Training. Both BJJ (gi and no-gi) and judo operate under one roof, with a weekly all-levels open mat. The academy also operates a sister location in Milpitas.
