Dominat10n Jiu Jitsu is a community-focused Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, led by owner and head instructor Dom Hoskins, a black belt in the Carlson Gracie lineage through Rodrigo Medeiros. The academy teaches both gi and no-gi for adults from beginner to advanced, a kids' program for ages four and up, and femmes-only classes, with open mats and private or small-group lessons also on offer. Sparring is optional for adults, and new students can watch a class first and borrow a loaner gi. Students compete at events including IBJJF tournaments, and the gym offers sliding-scale pricing and scholarships to keep training accessible.
