E17 BJJ is a community-focused martial arts academy in Walthamstow, east London. It began as a couple of weekly classes in a church hall and has grown into a full-time gym with its own permanent mat space on an industrial estate. The programme covers Brazilian jiu-jitsu in both gi and no-gi, wrestling and Muay Thai, taught through concept-based coaching in a welcoming atmosphere. Newcomers can start with a rolling introductory course or dedicated intro classes, and there is a women's only gi class and open mats for more experienced students. A structured youth pathway runs from younger children through teens into the adult classes, with enhanced-DBS-checked coaches. The gym holds regular grading days, seminars and events, and runs a members' app and shop.
