Five Rings Grappling Academy in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, traces its lineage through Gracie Barra and mentor Mauricio Gomes (8th degree coral belt) back to Carlos Gracie in Rio de Janeiro. Named after Miyamoto Musashi's philosophy, the academy champions a no-gi-friendly approach: students can reach any level without ever training in a gi. The team has won the BJJ Midlands Interclub three consecutive times. With cross-style grappling blending BJJ, judo and wrestling, Five Rings welcomes beginners through an intensive four-month fundamentals course covering fundamental positions and submissions. Open mats welcome all levels.
