Gentle Arts Dojo is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission grappling school in Uptown Waterloo, found in the Shops at Waterloo Town Square. It runs separate programmes for adults, women and kids, teaching both gi and no-gi in a friendly environment built on respect, humility and perseverance. Younger children start in play-based groups before moving into older kids' classes, and there is an invite-only competition group for kids. Adults can join all-levels classes, targeted training sessions and a weekly open mat, while the women's class focuses on foundations. The academy is registered with the IBJJF, and new students can try a class before committing.
