North Shore Jiu-Jitsu Club is a nonprofit Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy in Haleiwa, on Oahu's North Shore, led by black belt Mike Fowler, who trained under Lloyd Irvin in Maryland. The club's stated mission is to benefit the well-being of children through jiu-jitsu, and it runs on donations rather than fixed fees. It helps students with gis and sponsors tournament entries. The schedule covers gi and no-gi training with separate kids' groups by age, adult classes at several times of day, a competition class and a weekend open mat. An invite-only Black Belt Club sits alongside the regular classes.
