Ohm Jiu Jitsu
Not managed on Matador yetJiu Jitsu
Ohm Jiu Jitsu is a no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Birmingham's Avondale neighborhood. Every class is led by a black belt, and the program is built around welcoming newcomers, with a rotating beginner course that students can join at any point alongside all-levels sessions for more experienced members. The name, pronounced like "home," refers to the unit of electrical resistance, a nod to jiu jitsu being a sport built on resistance. The gym's motto is "Embrace Struggle. Pursue Growth." It is also known for hosting the city's all-gym open mat, where visitors from other schools can drill and roll at their own pace. The facility offers showers, bathrooms, cubbies and a small gym shop.
