Team Kalista is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy founded in 2021 by Professor Kaelum Kalista, a 2nd-degree black belt with an exceptional competition record: IBJJF Pan American Champion in no-gi and multiple medalist at Pan American and World Championships. The first American to earn a BJJ black belt in the Dominican Republic, he previously operated his own academy there for over a decade. Now serving the Hinesville and surrounding military community, Professor Kalista brings professional expertise as an active police officer. The gym offers adult fundamentals and advanced classes in both gi and no-gi, dedicated kids' programs, and specialized law enforcement and self-defense training.
