Established in 2003, The Academy is Maine's premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA training center, founded by black belts Jay Jack and Amanda Buckner. The gym operates within the Renzo Gracie lineage through Jay Jack's training under Amal Easton. It offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in both gi and no-gi, MMA, and Muay Thai classes for all levels. Several current instructors trained at The Academy and earned their black belts there, reflecting a strong internal progression and community culture. The dedicated On-Ramp program introduces beginners with no prior experience to the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
