Area 502 MMA is a large martial arts and fitness facility in Louisville and the city's only official Carlson Gracie Academy. It teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu in both gi and no-gi, boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling and mixed martial arts to adults, women and children. Youth programs include jiu-jitsu, boxing, wrestling and a homeschool class, and there is a dedicated women's program. The building has a boxing ring, a generous matted area and a separate private training space called The Jungle Gym. Members can train outside staffed hours with key-code entry. Head coaches hold black belt and USA Boxing credentials, and the atmosphere is described as family-friendly.
