Lock Down Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a Long Island academy in Lake Ronkonkoma, founded by Professor Joe Thompson, a third-degree black belt under SOCA BJJ and a multiple-time world champion. The school teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in both gi and no-gi, with programs for kids and adults that run from fundamentals through advanced training, plus a competition-focused team. Members also get women's-only sessions, open mats and visiting-instructor seminars. The team regularly competes, including in Grappling Combat League events, and the community takes part in charity fundraising such as Tap Cancer Out. The academy is registered with the IBJJF through USBJJF and has a sister location in Hewlett, New York.
