Pillar Jiu Jitsu is a community-focused Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy in Flatbush, Brooklyn, built around the motto of cultivating community and fostering empowerment. It is affiliated with Unity Jiu Jitsu and led by a Unity brown belt. The school teaches both gi and no-gi for adults, with separate beginner tracks, an advanced class for blue belts and up, a women-only class, and a structured novice program for people brand new to the art. Kids' classes are split by age and welcome children from any team or background. Competitors, hobbyists and health-minded members train together, and visitors from other gyms are welcome. Non-contact cardio boxing, strength and conditioning, and senior strength classes round out the schedule, and the gym also hosts kids' birthday parties.
