Exile Gym is a long-running mixed martial arts facility in Shirley, Southampton, with an online presence going back to at least 2013. Under one roof it teaches MMA, Muay Thai and K-1, boxing, Olympic wrestling, no-gi grappling and Shorinji Kempo, with separate beginner and advanced sessions, regular sparring, kids classes and ladies-only MMA and Muay Thai. The coaching team includes head MMA coach Dan Bourne, head Muay Thai coach Dean Kendall, whose fighters include Mo Abdurahman and Jordan Swinton, and MMA and strength coach Ross Mitchell. Besides the mats, members have a fitness suite with weights and cardio, and there is a family-run cafe on site. The gym welcomes all levels and presents itself as a close-knit community rather than a standard gym.
